Cordwipr — deleting your own history, on your terms

A desktop app for bulk-deleting your own content across Discord, X, Reddit, and Steam.

Cordwipr is a small desktop app (Windows, macOS, Linux) for bulk-deleting your own content — messages, posts, comments, reviews — across four services: Discord, X, Reddit, and Steam. One app, four platforms, all sharing a single progress, pacing, and rate-limit engine.

It grew out of the same instinct behind most things on this site: your data should be yours to remove, not just yours to have looked at once and then lost track of.

What it does

• Browse instead of hunting for IDs. Discord shows your actual servers, channels, and DMs with icons and avatars — tick as many as you like and they clear one after another under a single set of totals.
• Reaches further than the live APIs can. Both Discord and X support importing your official data archive, which surfaces content the APIs won’t list at all — closed DMs, X posts past its ~3,200-post API cap — and deletes by exact ID.
• Never sees your password. Discord login happens in a real embedded Discord window; the session token is captured from it and kept in your OS keychain, never in plaintext.
• Paces itself deliberately, with Safe/Normal/Fast presets and manual delay controls, rather than hammering an endpoint as fast as it can.

The honest part

Cordwipr works by automating your own account session — which is, in the eyes of Discord’s and X’s Terms of Service, “self-botting,” regardless of the fact that you’re only touching your own content. The risk is real, not theoretical, and X enforces it more actively than Discord does. Careful pacing reduces that risk; it doesn’t remove it. The app says this on first launch and makes you acknowledge it before it does anything — I’d rather someone read one honest paragraph than find out the hard way. Deletion is also permanent. There’s no undo button for a reason.
